(Campobasso, February 10, 2026) - The Municipality of Campobasso announces the adhesion to the Renewable Energy Community (CER) "GAL Molise", promoted by the Molise Local Action Group. The initiative was illustrated this morning at Palazzo San Giorgio, during a press conference attended by the mayor Marialuisa Forte, the Councilor for the Environment Simone Cretella, the delegated councilor for energy policies Walter Andreaola and the director of the Gal, Adolfo Colagiovanni.
The project was born with the strategic objective of guiding the territory towards a more sustainable energy future, involving citizens, companies and associations. In a context marked by expensive energy - two out of ten people from Molise have difficulty paying their bills - and by the growing urgency of the ecological transition, the administration has chosen to take advantage of the regulatory tools and incentives available at national and European level. The ERC "GAL Molise" is configured as an association of subjects who voluntarily decide to join forces to produce, share and locally consume clean energy from renewable sources.
Thanks to the state incentives provided for shared energy, members of the energy community can obtain an economic refreshment on the consumption sustained during the year. Membership also represents an opportunity to stimulate the production of renewable energy by local businesses, favoring the sharing of the energy produced among members of the community.
The municipal body will also have a central role in the provision of areas and roofs of public buildings - such as schools, town halls and buildings - for the installation of photovoltaic systems, thus contributing to the generation of energy to be shared with citizens who choose to participate.
It has also been announced the launch of a cycle of information meetings aimed at citizens and businesses (agricultural, crafts, commercial and services), designed to illustrate the initiative in detail, answer specific questions and collect the first expressions of interest. The calendar will be released shortly.
