Marine Adriatic PArks

Project Summary

The project MAPA – Marine Adriatic PArks is funded by the Interreg Italy-Croatia program. The main objective of the project is to strengthen the state of protection of three existing protected areas: the island of Silba, in Croatia, and the Italian areas of the Conero Park and the Foce del Trigno in Italy. The raising of the state of protection, obtained in active collaboration with local communities, will improve the protection and conservation of nature and biodiversity, thus promoting the regeneration of marine resources and the safeguarding of local livelihoods.

  • Enhancement and protection of marine resources present in the territories of partner countries;

  • Support effective management of marine protected areas;

  • Promote a surveillance activity and become ambassadors for the protection of marine nature present in these areas.

  • Strengthening of the protection, conservation and management systems of the marine areas of the island of Silba, the Conero Park and the Foce del Trigno through the actions and the cross-border strategy adopted as part of the MAPA-Marine Adriatic PArks project.
