POSITIVE CITIES
Zero emission cities towards 2050
Project Summary
The POSITIVE CITIES project aims to create a cross-border network of cities for the 55% reduction in energy consumption, through the redevelopment of low-performance buildings, with priority to public buildings, in line with the EPBD IV Directive and the EU decarbonization objectives.
The project provides a gradual path towards urban energy independence, starting from public buildings and, subsequently, from private ones, enhancing the positive impact of zero-emission buildings (ZEMB) on the environment, economy and society.
The project aims to promote the adoption of the rules of the EU EPBD directive, through the dissemination of a common cross-border model POSITIVE CITIES. The model will be used by municipalities in the program area that wish to achieve a positive impact of zero-emission buildings on the local social, environmental and economic system. The partners of the Positive Cities project will adopt an action plan to achieve a 55% reduction in the energy consumption of public buildings, in line with the new EU directive.
- Joint energy audit of public building stock and definition of energy needs;
- Development of a common POSITIVE CITIES model and construction of a zero-emission pilot public building (ZEMB)
- Definition of an Action Plan to 2050 for the energy independence of districts or municipalities and establishment of a stable cross-border network through Memorandum of Understanding.
