The Green B-LEAF project was born with the aim of promoting adaptation to climate change and the prevention of disaster risks in Mediterranean rural areas, strengthening territorial resilience through ecosystem-based approaches.
The initiative aims to improve the sustainability of local communities through innovative tools of participatory budgeting and data-based planning, addressing some widespread critical issues in small municipalities: limited citizen participation in climate planning, environmental degradation, reduced adaptability and lack of effective tools to assess the climate impact of local budgets.
Green B-LEAF proposes a model that puts communities at the center, encouraging greater involvement of citizens in decisions regarding the allocation of public resources for green initiatives. This approach strengthens transparency, accountability and a sense of belonging, contributing to a more equitable and effective local governance.
The project represents a concrete step towards more aware, participatory and resilient rural communities in the face of future climate challenges. 🌱
