From July 13 to 15, the Final Conference of the MAPA - Marine Adriatic PArks project took place in Ancona, a final event of a European project funded by the Italy-Croatia program dedicated to the protection and enhancement of Adriatic marine parks.
GAL Molise participated in the meeting as a technical assistant to the project partner ARPA Molise, contributing to the achievement of project activities.
The final conference was an important opportunity to present the numerous results achieved by the project, with a particular focus on Foce del Trigno, one of MAPA's three pilot sites. In particular, the results of the monitoring activities of the marine biodiversity of the area were illustrated, the proposal to expand the SIC site at sea and the path of involvement of operators, entities and administrators of the coastal territory, culminating in the establishment of a Local Cooperation Council; a participatory governance body aimed at promoting a shared and sustainable management of the area.
The event confirmed the value of cross-border cooperation and participatory approach in the protection of marine ecosystems and in the enhancement of the natural heritage of the Adriatic.
