DIGITAL PLAN

Civil Protection Plan Digitalization through Internet of Things Decision Support System based Platform

Project Summary

The project DIGITAL PLAN aims to digitize civil protection plans, developing a common cross-border methodology to be applied and replicated. The idea of the project stems from the need to have a common cross-border model of digitized Civil Protection Plan that can face the common challenge of the program area regarding better coordination of civil protection strategies, providing local authorities with an intelligent and user-friendly digital tool based on Internet of Things technologies.

  • Promote adaptation to climate change and disaster risk prevention, resilience, taking into account ecosystem-based approaches;

  • Digitize the civil protection plans, already operational in the territorial areas of competence of the partners, to improve the ability of local authorities to investigate the risks present;

  • Define common operating methods of intervention in the event of a disaster and in particular to share all the emergency planning with the other bodies and agencies in charge of rescue, to compress the intervention times, and with the population.

  • A strategy and action plan with guidelines for the cross-border digitization of emergency plans and technical specifications for IoT sensor kits adopted by PPs.

  • The strategy developed jointly on civil protection and the digitization of emergency plans aims to establish a targeted way to achieve a goal-oriented process and to capitalize on the project results.

  • The action plan will have a dual purpose: to define the key steps for the digitization of emergency plans and will be the knowledge base on which the end-of-project Memorandum of Understanding will be drawn up, which will commit the PPs to continue their mission, in their territories, to spread the culture of civil protection and the knowledge and risk analysis for greater resilience of the territories themselves in an era marked by climate change and the inability to understand increasingly extreme events.

  • Lead partner: GAL Molise towards 2000 (LP)
  • Partner: Zadar County Rural Development Agency – AGRRA (PP2); Maiella National Park (PP3); Ca' Foscari University of Venice (PP4); City of Dubrovnik (PP5); Public Institution RERA SD for coordination and development of Split Dalmatia County (PP6); University of Split, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (PP7); Municipality of Fermo (PP8).
